Hip Suture Passer System
Medacta Hip Capsular Closure System has been designed to manage sutures in hip capsular closure procedures.
The system combines a disposable and sterile Nitinol needle with a reusable grasper.
The instrument is compatible with the Ø8.5 mm Medacta Cannula System.
Medacta Hip Capsular Closure System is used to pass and retrieve standard USP #2 sutures through the hip capsule’s soft tissue, aiming to close the capsulotomy performed during hip arthroscopic procedures
The suture passer and retriever configuration allows to pull out the suture from the same arthroscopic portal used to previously stitch the suture.
The tip of the needle has a hook-shape design to engage the preloaded suture and guide it through the soft tissue once the back handle is squeezed.
Stage 1: soft tissue locking within movable and fixed jaws
